Welcome to the UK Islamic Mission's Web Portal

In the Name of Allah, most Compassionate, most Merciful.

Asslam-o-Alaikum (Peace be unto you)

The UK Islamic Mission is a national organisation with over 40 branches and Islamic Centres working across the United Kingdom. The UK Islamic Mission formed in the early 1960’s, it has served the Muslim community in particular and has helped to build bridges of understanding and mutual respect across faith communities.

As a registered charity organisation, we organise events at local, regional and national level to improve the understanding of the Muslim beliefs & practices, Islamic teachings, Islamic information, Islamic knowledge. This includes running daily educational classes for the young, weekly activities for teenagers, youth and male/ female adults, seminars for Muslims and other faith communities, exhibitions at schools and libraries, as well as facilitating visits to Mosques (Masajid) and working with interfaith groups throughout the country (England, Scotland and Wales). Furthermore, volunteers of UK Islamic Mission visit hospitals and prisons to help those who are less fortunate than us.

Our doors are open to all, irrespective of individual belief, and we are always encouraging people to come forward and to join us in helping others – Muslims and non-Muslims alike. To this end, why not become a Friend of Mission and start to make a difference today? Whatever you decide, I hope this site gives the information that you are looking for and that you will visit us again. Please also feel free to comment on the site and, if you prefer, on the organisation by any of the means listed under Contact Us.

I hope and pray that God Almighty guides us all on His Righteous Way.

Yours truly,

Shafiq Ur Rehman
President

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):
1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Apostle.
2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.
3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity).
4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)
5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.
