UKIM is one of the premier faith based civil society organisations working in the UK to serve the needs of the Muslim community in the UK. UKIM is going through a major organisational reform to re-establish itself as an effective civil society organisation and fulfil its mission. The reform includes major changes at governance and executive level and relocating its Head Office from London to Oldham.

The job holder is expected to provide inclusive and visionary leadership that inspires, engages and motivates employees, supporters and partners. To deliver UKIM’s vision and mission and to develop the organisation’s leading position within UK’s civil society community.

 Applicants should be sympathetic to Islamic principles and values and have a solid understanding & experience of Muslim communities in the UK.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support our membership elections processes
  • Help improve efficiency and positive membership service & experience.
  • Administrate UKIM’s membership data to using our CRM.
  • Regularly update membership data as well as feedback data from members regarding our core offer.
  • Prepare membership data that will inform decision making and drive continuous improvement of our services.
  • Oversee UKIM’s membership email inbox, processing applications, signposting members to the right member of staff.
  • Review membership information featured on the website to make sure it is accurate, relevant, and regularly reviewed.
  • Help with member mail outs as well as dissemination of member communications.
  • Support relationships with members through a variety of approaches
  • Support other members of the Team when required.

Skills & Knowledge:

  •  Knowledge and understanding of charitable sector membership based organisations in UK
  • Experience of dealing with membership data/CRM including processing applications, updating and maintaining records and providing reports
  • Experience of partnership work, and/or working with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to write and prepare written documents such as reports, updates and memos
  • Experience of membership events
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of the administrative processes involved in managing members
  • Demonstrable presentation and facilitation skills to small groups
  • Experience of working in collaboration across multiple teams / multiple stakeholders

Technical Skills & Experience:

  •  Experience of utilising CRM systems to ensure excellent customer service and increased engagement of members
  •  Excellent knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office products
  •  Experience of utilising data to improve a service offer and membership service
  • You may have experience of the following: Member Engagement and Communications Coordinator, Regional Membership, Communications Specialist, Communications and Engagement Officer, Member Relations and Communications Advisor, Regional Membership Engagement Manager,

Communications Strategist for Member Engagement, Membership Outreach and Communications Specialist, Regional Member Engagement Consultant, etc
