AS A RESULT OF POVERTY, MANY CHILDREN HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GO TO SCHOOL HUNGRY. MANY OF THE POOREST FAMILIES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM HAVE BECOME RELIANT UPON THE COMPASSIONATE ASSISTANCE OF THEIR NEIGHBOURS TO PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE

14 million people, including 4.5 million children, are living in poverty in the UK, according to the Social Metrics Commission.

UK Islamic Mission distributes food parcels to families in need in the UK, helping those who are in the most desperate circumstances. When you think of families living in poverty, the UK isn’t necessarily the first country that comes to mind, but this is a major crisis that is happening on our doorstep.
