The mosque is the centre of the community, yet many of our brothers and sisters across the world are not fortunate enough to have easy access to a local Masjid.
Muslims attend mosques every day for daily prayers, yet they are also vital centres for community, socialisation, education and so much more.
In war-torn regions around the world, mosques have been damaged or destroyed due to the devastating effects of ongoing conflict.
In other parts of the world, remote rural communities have never enjoyed the benefits of a local mosque. Instead, residents have no choice but to walk miles to the nearest Masjid or simply not attend at all. This leaves the sick and elderly with no access to what should be the centre of any Muslim community.
UK Islamic Mission recognises the important role that mosques play in Muslim communities around the world, which is why we are committed to doing all that we can to make them accessible to as many people as possible.
Our current Mosque projects include:
- Rebuild Masjid Ibrahim Gaza – helping to rebuild the Masjid Ibrahim in Gaza, following destruction as a result of the ongoing conflict
- Build a Mosque – supporting the building of a small mosque for 150-200 people
- UK Mosque Project – building and establishing mosques across the UK
