The United Nations predicts that the area will soon be uninhabitable. Help Gaza and ease the suffering of these vulnerable people in their time of greatest need.
Brothers and sisters, the people of Gaza are under attack as you read this. Thirteen years of a cruel and unjust blockade has already severely weakened the healthcare system and made life generally a struggle to survive. Now the attacks have increased once again and innocents are losing their lives every day, including many children.
- More than 200 people killed, including 65 children and 39 women
- Over 1,900 people injured
- More than 75,000 internally displaced people without food or water
- Over two million civilians suffering from psychological and physical trauma
The conflict in Gaza has destroyed homes, hospitals, schools and mosques. Many have been left with nothing save the clothes on their backs, with loved ones gone or missing, livelihoods lost, and no way to earn a stable, regular income.
Many people feel as though they have nowhere to turn, with close to 80% of the population reliant on donations from the likes of those who support UK Islamic Mission as we work towards safeguarding innocent lives. This is a staggering statistic that really does speak volumes about the struggles and challenges the people of Gaza face every day.
However, with your generous help, we are continuing to do all that we can to support these vulnerable, impoverished people. Together, we can work to rebuild Gaza and help Palestine; charity work and kind donations can go a long way towards providing a brighter future for these disadvantaged people.
The generous donations and funds from our Gaza emergency appeal have already enabled us to build a new children's ward in Kamal Odwan Hospital, with a capacity for 75 patients. We have also been able to distribute lifesaving medical supplies and equipment to existing hospitals. Your charitable Gaza donations really do have the power to transform lives.
