Hundreds of thousands of people are homeless or rough sleeping in the UK, many of whom die on our streets every winter.
These people are some of the most vulnerable members of our society, desperately in need of our help and support. Becoming homeless means the loss of a home but also often much more. Many lose their possessions, contact with family and friends, and can become very lonely and isolated in the process.
Alone and neglected, those living on the street struggle to see hope for a brighter future. An overbearing feeling of worthlessness sadly leads many into taking their own life (Bureau of Investigative Journalism). As a result of these challenges, homeless people have a much shorter life expectancy than the rest of the population.
At UK Islamic Mission, we are working tirelessly to support the homeless in our own communities, which is why we are appealing to you. We want to help save the lives of homeless people on our streets this winter. Our cold survival support packs for the homeless could help save a life this winter.
Please help us by donating to our winter appeal today.
