Just as care for a mother and her baby does not end after a single day, our commitment to saving lives must continue every day. This campaign calls on the Muslim community to rise together across all 30 days of Ramadan to protect mothers and newborns when they need it most.

Around the world, pregnancy and childbirth remain life-threatening for millions of women — especially in humanitarian and low-resource settings. Yet many of these deaths are preventable with timely care, skilled support, and strengthened health systems. The For Mama Challenge centers the sacred bond between mother and baby and recognizes that sustained care before, during, and after birth is essential for survival and dignity.

Through this campaign, your daily actions — whether giving, fundraising, or spreading awareness — contribute to life-saving maternal and newborn health interventions. Funds raised through UKIM will support proven solutions, including prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage, maternal and newborn mental health support, early risk detection through portable ultrasound, improved nutrition for mothers and infants, and expanded access to skilled birth attendants and quality healthcare facilities. We also invest in strengthening health systems and delivering culturally and faith-grounded care that respects local communities.
