UKIM Masjid Fundraising Events
For around 15 years, the Muslim community of Skegness has gathered for Jumu'ah in a rented hall, without a permanent Masjid to call its own.
As the community has grown, so has the need. Around 80–90 men regularly attend Jumu'ah, with numbers increasing considerably during the holiday season. Yet there remains no appropriate prayer space for women and children and, importantly, no dedicated place where the next generation can receive Islamic education.
The journey to establish a permanent Masjid has not been easy.
Following fundraising in 2019, the community purchased a builder's yard and began plans for a new Mosque. Tragically, the premises were subsequently badly damaged in an arson attack which Police declared a hate crime.
But the community did not give up.
In March 2024, a disused former church adjoining the original site was purchased for £130,000, and the necessary planning approvals were secured. The vision of establishing a permanent Masjid for Skegness is now within reach.
Now, we need your help to complete it.
The overall project is estimated at approximately £550,000. With around £210,000 already secured, approximately £340,000 is still needed to complete the Masjid.
Join us for this special Foundations of Faith Fundraising Dinner and become part of a remarkable journey of faith, resilience and determination.
Together, we can help establish a permanent House of Allah in Skegness — a place of Salah, Qur'an, Islamic education and community, with facilities to serve men, women, children and generations yet to come.
Your ticket brings you to the dinner.
Your generosity can help build the Masjid
The Masjid provides the foundation for our faith.
Together, we must provide the foundation for its future.
