UKIM has supported Mosaic, a Prince's charity and part of the Prince's Trust, for a number of years and is proud to be a Silver Patron. Through this assistance, Mosaic have been able to reach even more children from deprived communities to help them realise their talent, potential and ambitions.
With the help of volunteer mentors acting as role models, Mosaic aim to bridge the aspirations-attainment gap by linking young people with inspirational role models. In this way, they boost their confidence, self-efficacy and long-term employability. Do you have the ability to inspire others, relate to the young, communicate clearly, motivate and act as a role model? If you do, mentoring with Mosaic is for you.
UKIM is now engaging further with Mosaic and assisting them in providing Mentor's for their schools across the country. There is currently a big need in North, especially Oldham and Rochdale for Mentor's. Training is provided to each Mentor to enable them to carry out their role at the schools.
If you or anyone you know have what it takes to become a Mentor and you want to give something back to help those from deprived backgrounds to realise their potential, please get in touch immediately with firstname.lastname@example.org. If there are sufficient numbers of volunteers in each city, bespoke training can be arranged for them.
There will be several co-ordinator's who will help this iniaitive and all branches and members are asked to contribute and assist where possible to help make this a success.
