There are 12 months in the Islamic calendar, and they begin with the sighting of the new moon.
The months in order are as follows: Muharram, Safar, Rabi-Al Awwal, Rabi-Al Thani, Jumada-Al Awwal, Jumada Al-Thani, Rajab, Shaaban, Ramadan, Shawwal, Dhul Qadah, and Dhul Hijjah.
Each of these months has a meaning and significance, which can be seen below.
